CMI Orchards stands as a premier grower, shipper and packer of high-quality conventional and organic apples, pears and cherries. As the 2023 apple season takes off, the company is gearing up with optimism and anticipation. The company’s vice president of business development, Robb Myers, was pleased to report that the apple crop is showing promise, with the prospect of year-round availability for most of their varieties.

Joel Hewitt, the company’s domestic sales and organic manager, further reinforced this positivity, stating that forecasts indicate an upturn across the board, encompassing organic, core and managed variety volumes. “All indications suggest we’ll see a stellar crop,” he noted.

Scott McDougall of McDougall & Sons shared a similar optimism. He expressed his belief that this year’s apple crop is among the finest and healthiest he has witnessed at this stage of the growing period: “We’re hopeful for an epic season ahead.”

Myers provided further insight into the factors contributing to this optimism: “We set a lot of king blossoms this year, and the best blooms always produce the best fruit.” Additionally, the favorable weather conditions have played a pivotal role. With temperatures remaining within a favorable range, the apple trees can channel their energy into fruit production rather than diverting resources to contend with adverse weather conditions.
