Value of U.S. mango imports rises 32% since 2019

While sliding slightly in 2023, the value of U.S. mango imports is up more than 32% compared with 2019.

USDA trade statistics show that Mexico was the largest supplier of mangoes in 2023, accounting for 63% of the value of U.S. mango imports in 2023.

Peru ranked second in import mango value, accounting for 19% of U.S. import value in 2023. Brazil accounted for 8% of U.S. import value in 2023, followed by 4% for Ecuador, 2% for Guatemala and 2% for India.

The following is the 2023 value of U.S. mango imports by country, with percent change from 2022 and 2019:

  • Mexico — $476 million, up 1% from 2022 and up 36% from 2019.
  • Peru — $141 million, down 8% from 2022 but up 54% from 2019.
  • Brazil — $62 million, up 57% from 2022 and up 38% from 2019.
  • Ecuador — $27 million, down 54% from 2022 and down 38% from 2019.
  • Guatemala — $16 million, up 15% from 2022 and up 80% from 2019.
  • India — $14 million, up 51% from 2022 and up 90% from 2019.
  • Dominican Republic — $11 million, up 9% from 2022 and up 220% from 2019.
  • Vietnam — $2 million, up 54% from 2022 and up 4% from 2019.
  • Chile — $2 million, up 20% from 2022 and up 163% from 2019.
  • Costa Rica — $1.4 million, down 29% from 2022 and up 38% from 2019.
