Peru’s blueberry exports down 50% this season

Since the 2023-2024 Peruvian fresh blueberry campaign began, 40,527 tons were shipped until week 36, reflecting a 50 percent reduction compared to what was achieved in the same period of the previous campaign, as reported by Agraria.
In week 36, the largest amount shipped in this campaign was recorded, with a total of 6,626 tons, which was 62 percent less than the same period in 2022.

In that week, the product reached 27 countries, of which three concentrated 88 percent of all exports. These were the U.S., with 53 percent participation; followed by the Netherlands, with 24 percent; and China, with 10 percent.
Shipments to the U.S. totaled 3,513 tons, which reflected a decrease of 64 percent compared to last year. The Peruvian exporters that stood out the most were Camposol S.A., with 19 percent participation, and Agrícola Cerro Prieto S.A., with 14 percent.
Regarding the Netherlands, their purchases this week totaled 1,623 tons, which is 66 percent less than the same week in 2022. Regarding Peruvian export companies, those that stood out the most were Camposol S.A., with 15 percent participation, and Complejo Agroindustrial Beta S.A., with 9 percent.
Finally, exports to China totaled 684 tons, which represented a 41 percent decrease compared to last year. The Peruvian exporters that had the most participation in this market were Agrovisión Perú S.A.C., with 25 percent, and Camposol S.A., with 18 percent.
