Tudor Ranch specializes in growing, packaging and distributing fresh California table grapes, lemons and dates from California’s picturesque Coachella Valley. This time of year the focus on the farm is getting the word out that early-season table grapes are available.

Joseph Tudor, director of operations and co-owner, is passionate about supporting California produce. “We want buyers to know we are U.S.-grown and Coachella table grapes are in season,” he said. With California districts behind in the calendar, Joe and the team at Tudor want to raise the awareness of their Coachella season.

Headquartered in Mecca, CA, the third-generation family farm and pack facility maintains 1,085 acres of vineyard, offering supply in all three colors. “Some buyers are not even aware that they have a choice between May and June –– our grapes are here, today,” said Tudor.

The company forecasts an increase in volume over the last year. Tudor said, “we are seeing excellent size and quality, largely due to the ideal chill hours we received throughout the California winter and spring.”

Tudor is upbeat about the vibrancy of the company’s fresh grapes. “The market for fresh crop fruit is very good right now, as people are tired of the imported fruit, which has been on water and in storage for weeks due to port delays,” he said.

Positioned to capitalize on seasonal timing, Tudor said, “The news is we are ahead of schedule –– our Coachella grapes will start the week of May 9 and continue through July.” That’s a couple of days earlier than last year. “Our late varieties will carry us into the middle of the summer,” said Tudor.

Tudor Ranch’s Coachella season is now, and the company encourages retailers to support U.S. produce.
